MR. FEDELE GOES TO WASHINGTON
The story of how a knucklehead like me got into the White House.
I've had the pleasure and honor of entertaining our troops in the Middle East on several occasions. During my last tour I met and befriended a great guy named MSG Jarrod Gozy. In March Jarrod and his beautiful wife Jessica visited me in Las Vegas. They presented me with a gift that took my breath away. It's an American flag that was flown over Camp TAJI in Iraq. It was totally unexpected and to me very emotional. I had to fight back tears, I couldn't let this big tough Army guy see an old former Marine cry.
After the show Jarrod asked if my wife and I would like to visit the White House as his guests. Not only did we visit the White House but also a place or two, I'd love to tell you about but then I'd have to kill you 😀
My respect and admiration for anyone who serves in the military has no equal. These men and women are truly the best our country has to offer. They leave their homes and families and walk into hell so you and I can live in peace. Being over there and seeing what they go through up close is amazing, it's humbling to be in their presence.
Life is funny. As I walked all through the White House I kept thinking how lucky I am. I entertain the troops to show my gratitude for their bravery and their selflessness, yet it's me who gets to go to the White House. I walked the same halls as Kennedy and Reagan, I looked out the same windows that Clinton and Bush looked out. I honestly believe I'm one of the luckiest guys on earth.
I will always be grateful and indebted to MSG Jarrod Gozy for his kindness and graciousness.
Thank you for the trip of a lifetime!
